In May 2005, Marine Radio Service, Ltd. ("MRS") was appointed by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as a "JP07" agent specialized in calculation services. In August of that same year, MRS became an Authorized Accounting Authority commissioned by the government of Panama.
During November 2005, MRS began QRC Services for ships of Japanese registry within our corporate group as well as for ships of Panamanian registry.
As of October 2023, MRS has a total 167 ships under contract, including 61 ships of Japanese registry, 78 ships of Panamanian registry, 21 ships of Singaporean registry and others.
1. QRC Services conducted by MRS
- 1) Collect satellite/VHF communications charges
- 2) Radio station license application services for domestic- and foreign-flag ships (presently limited to ships registered in Japan or Panama), including new (newly built ships)/altered licenses; notification of license abandonment
- 3) INMARSAT ID acquisition and abandonment
- 4) ITU book delivery to ships under contract
